Job Description

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.

The Automation Engineer is responsible for introducing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems used in electronics manufacturing. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and performance to support production output and quality standards. The position collaborates closely with manufacturing engineering, operations, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance safety, and integrate advanced automation technologies into manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Automation Equipment Implementation & Maintenance

  • Coordinate with Automation HC, company Industrial Engineering teams, and vendors on the installation, relocation, and commissioning of automation equipment for new production lines.
  • Participate in integrating new automation machinery, vision inspection systems, and related technologies.
  • Lead automation system calibration to ensure proper functionality before release to production.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for automation equipment.
  • Lead RCCA (Root Cause & Corrective Action) efforts to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
  • Support technical engineering work in identifying root causes of equipment issues and implementing corrective actions.

Process Support

  • Collaborate with engineers to enhance equipment performance, stability, and reliability.
  • Support production line changes, tooling adjustments, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Implement maintenance best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Execute RCCA using PDCA methodology, including error-proofing actions

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA, EHS, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Participate in equipment safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in automated system implementation, vendor management, and equipment maintenance-preferably in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or automated production environments.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and hands-on experience with automated equipment and mainstream market automation technologies.
  • Knowledge of engineering project management processes with the ability to plan and execute technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics, machine vision systems, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
  • Experience in automation machine design using 3D/2D tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.

Software Knowledge

  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
